Romans 8:1 There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit.
We are called to be Spirit led people. Though everyday we wake up in this recharged body of flesh.
Our flesh and our spirit are contrary to one another. In other words the flesh wants what it wants and likewise the Spirit what it wants or needs.
Galatians 5:16-18 (NKJV) 16 I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh. 17 For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary to one another, so that you do not do the things that you wish. 18 But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law.
Being led by the Spirit is more than a suggestion but a requirement. There is no division from being Spirit people and being Word people. The two are One.
“If you are led by the Spirit” Pleasing God is a desire of many. Though, how people go about attempting to accomplish this, often unsuccessfully, varies greatly. Any attempts that are fleshy driven will fail every time. This is a hard one for the fleshy person to ever understand. The whole idea “but I do good stuff”….
1 Cor. 10:5 But with most of them God was not well pleased, for their bodies were scattered in the wilderness. 6 Now these things became our examples, to the intent that we should not lust after evil things as they also lusted.
So the problem is man keeps being determined to find his own support system and solution. Let’s just get faith and religion out of it. We can help you help people if you take the religion out. There is no help without Christ daily at the center of it all. Now we all fail at this but knowing it is a good start.
So we must starve our flesh’s cravings and feed our spirit if we want to be Spirit led people who live pleasing to the Lord. Say No to the cravings and make way for more margin for the work of the Lord in your life.
