Main Message- Deep calling deeper
Introduction:
Lamentations 3:22-24 (NKJV) 22 Through the LORD’s mercies we are not consumed, Because His compassions fail not. 23 They are new every morning; Great is Your faithfulness. 24 “The LORD is my portion,” says my soul, “Therefore I hope in Him!”
- New mercies every morning.
- New season of acceleration, maturation, activation.
- Because of the faithfulness of the Lord we can wake up to NEW each day.
Psalms 42:1-2 (NKJV) 1 As the deer pants for the water brooks, So pants my soul for You, O God. 2 My soul thirsts for God, for the living God. When shall I come and appear before God?
Psalms 42:7-8 (NKJV) 7 Deep calls unto deep at the noise of Your waterfalls; All Your waves and billows have gone over me. 8 The LORD will command His lovingkindness in the daytime, And in the night His song shall be with me— A prayer to the God of my life.
- The Lord calling His people into the deep.
1 Corinthians 2: 9-13 9 But, as it is written, “What no eye has seen, nor ear heard, nor the heart of man imagined, what God has prepared for those who love him”—10 these things God has revealed to us through the Spirit. For the Spirit searches everything, even the depths of God. 11 For who knows a person’s thoughts except the spirit of that person, which is in him? So also no one comprehends the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God. 12 Now we have received not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we might understand the things freely given us by God. 13 And we impart this in words not taught by human wisdom but taught by the Spirit, interpreting spiritual truths to those who are spiritual.
- When we beginning listening carefully enough we can hear the rumblings of God.
- The mystery of God lies in the deep. It is the Spirit of God which searches out these mysteries and reveals them to us.
- Deep is calling out to deep.
- 1.3.1. Calling us to a deeper place.
- 1.3.2. Many lives being transforming by the power of the Gospel.
- 1.3.3. Deepening the work of the Spirit and the Word in our life.
- 1.3.4. Deep working in our life has a sound…
- 1.3.5. Like a sound of mighty waters…
- 1.4. All your waves and breakers going over me…
All Your waves and billows have gone over me.
- 1.4.1. A wave of awakening has swept through our Church
- 1.4.2. shaking and waking many sleepy believers.
- 1.4.3. The effects that a wave has on us… we are powerless to stand still. The wave will push us in the direction of it’s travel.
- 1.4.4. Ela… Like a glass of cold water thrown on our face while in a deep sleep… it still takes a moment to realize what happened.
- 1.4.5. Prophecy back in April when I saw like it was a wave going over us… though not a water wave more like a wind wave.
- 1.4.6. Ela… I was once shaken awake by an earthquake in the Philippines. I was 24 years old, with an available office at the church as my home, and was violently awakened as the earth shook. I still ran downstairs and found myself in the parking lot until I really realized what had happened.
- Deep does not mean difficult to understand…
- 1.5.1. Deep refers to the place where we willing offer control
- 1.5.2. The place where your yes overrides your feelings…
Matthew 5:33-37 (NKJV) 33 “Again you have heard that it was said to those of old, You shall not swear falsely, but shall perform your oaths to the Lord.’ 34 But I say to you, do not swear at all: neither by heaven, for it is God’s throne; 35 nor by the earth, for it is His footstool; nor by Jerusalem, for it is the city of the great King. 36 Nor shall you swear by your head, because you cannot make one hair white or black. 37 But let your ‘Yes’ be ‘Yes,’ and your ‘No,’ ‘No.’ For whatever is more than these is from the evil one.
- 1.5.2.1. Stop trying to convince our selves and just be convinced of the Lord.
- 1.5.2.2. Ela… I am going to do this. This time it is going to happen.
- 1.5.2.3. Let the cycles be broken.
- 1.5.2.4. Allow the triggers to be disarmed.
- Here we are months later taking inventory of what has actually happened…
- 1.6.1. There has been people falling in love with Jesus all over again,
- 1.6.2. Many being filled with the Holy Spirit receiving their prayer language,
- 1.6.3. For some an overall wrecking of normal life.
- 1.6.4. Many families have been lit up.
- 1.6.5. Husbands and fathers assuming their role of head of house.
- 1.6.6. allowing the Lord time to direct our steps maybe for the first time.
- 1.6.7. Sicknesses healed…
- 1.6.8. Callings renewed…
- 1.6.9. Dreams resurrected…
- 1.6.10. Faith rising up and taking first steps out of the boat of norm…
- 1.6.11. New ministries have been birthed…
- 1.6.12. Back to knowing our *best* days are ahead…
- 1.6.13. Now a renewed call to the Great Commission.
Mark 16:15 (NKJV) And He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature.
- Then there is the realization we are wading in the shallows… still. (More of that in a moment)
- We always have to go back to the Word for perspective.
- 2.1.1. Jesus fed multiplied thousands in an afternoon… we feed hundreds.
- 2.1.2. Jesus healed all who came to Him… we are excited when one if one gets healed.
- We always have to go back to the Word for perspective.
Matthew 12:15 (NKJV) But when Jesus knew it, He withdrew from there. And great multitudes followed Him, and He healed them all.
- 2.1.3. On the Day of Pentecost 3000 saved in a day… thank you Lord that one will be saved today.
- 2.1.4. At the death of Stephen the Church was scattered and the seed of the Gospel went forth to many new soils and Churches erupted.
- 2.1.5. Demons were keenly aware of Jesus and His followers.
- 2.1.6. In other words we have work to do.
- 2.2. The touch of God is evident when:
- 2.2.1. Our heart’s once again begin burning with a love and devotion for Christ, His Church, and the Great Commission.
- 2.2.2. Advancing the Kingdom of God becomes our passion and priority.
- 2.2.3. Our devotion life is alive, consistent, we are receiving revelations, and are hearing from God.
- 2.2.4. Our marriages are made stronger, our parenting becomes more intentional, our business or careers take on different meaning.
- 2.2.5. All this wonderfulness comes with new welcomed challenges.
- Doing the will of the Father.
John 4:34 Jesus said to them, “My food is to do the will of Him who sent Me, and to finish His work.
- Jesus said “My food is to do the will of Him who sent Me, and to finish” – Repeat after me “to do the will of Him”
- 3.1.1. Knowing the Will of the Father for your life.
- 3.1.2. The Will of God needs to be Biblical.
- 3.1.3. Yet, the Will of God is very individual.
- 3.2. Individual will…
- 3.2.1. Ela… for the Prophet Hosea the will of the Lord was for him to marry a harlot. Hosea 1:2.
- 3.2.2. For the Apostle Paul the will of the Lord was for him to remain unmarried.
- 3.3. The will of the Father made simple:
- 3.3.1. There are clearly and direct aspects of the will of God found in the Word.
- 3.3.2. The aspects of the will of God for your life that are unknown become known as we are faithfully at work doing His will that we do know.
- 3.4. The will is to finish the work.
- 3.4.1. There is a work that needs to be finished…
John 4:34 (NKJV) Jesus said to them, “My food is to do the will of Him who sent Me, and to finish His work.
John 19:30 (NKJV) So when Jesus had received the sour wine, He said, “It is finished!” And bowing His head, He gave up His spirit.
2 Timothy 4:6-8 (NKJV) 6 For I am already being poured out as a drink offering, and the time of my departure is at hand. 7 I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. 8 Finally, there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give to me on that Day, and not to me only but also to all who have loved His appearing.
John 4:35 Do you not say, ‘There are still four months and then comes the harvest’? Behold, I say to you, lift up your eyes and look at the fields, for they are already white for harvest! 36 And he who reaps receives wages, and gathers fruit for eternal life, that both he who sows and he who reaps may rejoice together. 37 For in this the saying is true: ‘One sows and another reaps.’
- 3.5. Do not say 4 months until we finish… we just get to the work of His will.
- 3.5.1. the harvest… is ripe…
- 3.5.2. The harvest has been ripe….
- 3.5.3. Also, do not say the past 4 months I have been revived therefore I am revived.
- 3.6. The work of seeking, asking and knocking the Lord for a great awakening…
Psalms 122:1-2 (NKJV) 1 I was glad when they said to me, “Let us go into the house of the LORD.” 2 Our feet have been standing Within your gates, O Jerusalem!
- 3.6.1. This was not that not yet though we are moving the right direction.
- 3.6.2. But we must pray and continue seeking the Lord.
- 3.6.3. To think that an hour is the extent of many believers week of devotion to the Lord…..
- 3.6.4. The food of the Lord.
- 3.7.The work of keeping the fire burning.
Leviticus 6:12 (NKJV) And the fire on the altar shall be kept burning on it; it shall not be put out. And the priest shall burn wood on it every morning, and lay the burnt offering in order on it; and he shall burn on it the fat of the peace offerings.
- 3.8. The work of prayer continues.
- 3.8.1. The fire must but kept burning.
- 3.8.2. There is a tendency to settle down and relish in the wonderfulness of what the Lord has accomplished in our hearts.
- “But we did the whole fire thing…”
- “Can we go back to normal life now…”
- You will figure out a new flow of life.
- It is too early to tell the effects of what has happened.
- 3.9. The work of the great commission.
Matthew 24:14 (NKJV) And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come.
- 3.9.1. The goal is a witnessing of the gospel to the whole world.
- 3.9.2. This means not allowing our selves to get settled into our comfort.
- 3.9.3. Provision is for the vision. Let’s us not settle in and be comfortable with that same provision.
- 3.9.4. The work of making disciples.
- The goal is yet another great awakening.
- A Wales Revival of True Religion…: “I have just returned from a two day visit to the storm center of the great Wells survival which is sweeping over Wales like a cyclone,
- 4.2. Space lifting people into ecstasy of spiritual fervor.
- 4.3. Already over 34,000 converts have been made, and the great awakening shows no signs of waning.. It is sweeping over hundreds of hamlets and cities, empty and saloons, theaters, and dance halls, in filling the churches night after night with praying multitudes.“
- 4.4. The conscience of the community, as well as of the church, seems to be quickened.
- 4.5. During the Welsh Revival of 1904–1905, over 100,000 people became converts out of a total population of approximately two million.
- 4.6. This means that roughly 5% of the population joined churches during the revival period.
- 4.7. Converts: At least 100,000 people were converted and added to churches, with the bulk of conversions occurring over a period of about 12 months.
- 4.8. Some sources suggest that 70,000 joined in the first two months alone.
- 4.9. Percentage of population: During the height of the revival in 1905, church membership rose from roughly 49% of the population to 56%. This shows the conversion rate was high, but many participants were already affiliated with churches, especially the nonconformist ones prevalent in Wales.
- 4.10. Local impact: The revival had a powerful local impact in certain areas. For example, in the Rhondda Valleys, there were 11,601 converts out of a population of around 112,000. In Abertillery, over 10% of the population became converts in less than ten weeks.
- 4.11. A modernization movement: The Welsh Revival is understood not only as a religious event but also as a part of Britain’s modernization. It coincided with the rise of the labor movement and socialism and was influenced by a growing disaffection with religion among the working class and young people.
- 4.12. Last great revival: Historians widely regard the 1904–1905 revival as the last major outpouring of the Welsh Nonconformist movement. The movement subsequently began a gradual decline, which was accelerated by the First World War.
- It is time to seek the Lord.
Hosea 10:12 (NKJV) Sow for yourselves righteousness; Reap in mercy; Break up your fallow ground, For it is time to seek the LORD, Till He comes and rains righteousness on you.
2 Chronicles 7:14 (ESV)if my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land.
- We break up our fallow ground so that we can seek the Lord.
- 5.2. If we are awakened then let us seek the Lord.
- 5.3. Let us call upon the Name of the Lord for another or continued outpouring in our hearts and in our land.
- 5.4. Let us not be satisfied with the swallows.
- 5.5. What ever depth of relationship with Christ has been stirred up in your life it has been stirred up for one reason “deep calls to deep” to go deeper!
Closing:
- October is care month.
- We are going to make it prayer and care month.
- The goal is to fill a daily slot of keeping the fires of prayer burning at the altar.
Our Prayer: Lord, awaken our hearts, awaken our families, awaken your Church!
